>> History
The history of Parque da Jaqueira began in the 18th century, when this land, which belonged to Henrique Martins, a wealthy merchant who lived in the city, was home to a large farm. At the time, the owner ordered the construction of a small chapel, which still stands there today and is one of the most remarkable examples of Portuguese Baroque architecture.
After hundreds of years, the land was transformed into a soccer field and later, because of the famous chapel, renowned landscape artist Burle Marx donated a project for the surrounding area. In the 1970s, the site was abandoned and began hosting a local fair that resembled an amusement park, attracting visitors from all over the city. Inspired by this idea, 10 years later, the city mayor decided to transform the park into what we see today.
Parque da Jaqueira is a very pleasant and safe place in Recife. Designed for physical and sports activities, the park features a 1,000-meter jogging track, a 1,100-meter bike lane, a 400-meter BMX track, and a 600-meter skating track. There are also three large play areas with toys for children of different ages, plus tables and benches for parents or guardians to rest.
It is very green, filled with fruit trees bearing mangoes, pitangas, and jackfruit, as well as ornamental plants. In addition to the area dedicated to exercise, the historic farmstead with the Baroque chapel and Burle Marx garden have been preserved to this day. It is absolutely worth a visit.
>> 4 TIPS TO HELP YOU CHOOSE THE IDEAL PROPERTY TO BUY: >
Do not think only about your current marital status. Real estate is highly durable. For this reason, your choice must consider not only today, but also your future plans. You can find houses and apartments of different sizes, and this will also influence the number of bedrooms the property has. If you plan to live alone, assess whether the home you are about to acquire will meet your needs at least in the medium term. A one-bedroom apartment for a single person, for example, can accommodate a future spouse and even a crib-sized child. But if starting a family is closer to your reality, it may be best to consider properties with 2 or even 3 bedrooms. This way, you ensure a home that will accommodate your life plans.
> Location is a relevant factor. Check whether the properties you are considering are well located. This does not necessarily mean being in a central area, but rather having good infrastructure nearby to cover everyday and unexpected needs. Get to know the neighborhood: check whether there are pharmacies, bakeries, supermarkets, health clinics, schools, as well as good public transportation coverage. This will be necessary and, in the end, may save you considerable effort.
> Assess whether the "utilities" meet your needs. Number of bathrooms, parking spaces, elevator, accessibility, built-in closets... Each feature has its purpose depending on your needs and, therefore, must be taken into consideration. For those who own cars or motorcycles, not having a parking space can generate a significant monthly cost that, in the end, may be much more expensive than making a slightly larger investment for these items, for example. The same applies if an apartment does not have a service area that can accommodate a washing machine. With the rush of everyday life, it is not always possible to wash clothes by hand, and the lack of space for a washer can generate recurring laundry expenses that would make it impossible to cover all costs. Therefore, pay attention to your needs, calculate everything carefully, and make a better-aligned and feasible choice.
> Check whether your dream fits your financial reality. You may dream of having a larger apartment, with a service area, spacious bedrooms, and everything else. However, before you start looking, be realistic: assess your financial possibilities. Even with a good down payment with FGTS support, financing can be expensive due to interest rates, and no one knows what tomorrow will bring. So do not aim higher than you can reach. Evaluate the available budget, run financing simulations, and only then go in search of the property. This way, you can align your dream with your reality and avoid committing to something you will not be able to fulfill. By following these tips, you will certainly make a more advantageous deal. So be sure to consider these points!
